BCWD UPDATE: BCWD Donates School Supplies Various Schools For Brigada Eskwela

The Butuan City Water District (BCWD) donated recently bond papers and notebooks to nine different schools in Butuan City for the annual Brigada Eskwela of the Department of Education with the theme : “Pagpapanatili ng Bayanihan Tungo sa Kalidad na Edukasyon para sa Kabataan.”
The National Schools’ Maintenance Week or Brigada Eskwela is an annual DepEd program aimed at engaging stakeholders’ maximum participation in ensuring schools’ preparedness by the opening of classes. It champions the spirit of volunteerism in DepEd. It is not only a program of DepEd, but also that of the education stakeholders.
The Department of Education wrote to invite the Butuan City Water District to be one of the donors for the said event to provide the necessary supplies/help requested by nine different schools in Butuan City namely: (1) Silad-Mahogany Elementary School; (2) Alviola Village Elementary School; (3) Banza National High School; (4) Doongan Elementary School; (5) Anticala National High School (6) Libertad National High School; (7) La Trinidad Central Elementary School; (8) West Central Elementary School; and (9) Bobon Central Elementary School.
In the light of the on-going threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, Brigada Eskwela deviated from the traditional concept of physical cleaning, painting, repainting, and doing minor repairs in schools and will instead prioritize preparations and strengthening partnership engagement to ensure that quality basic education will continue despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.
BCWD was requested to support the initiative by donating thermal scanners; hand sanitizing equipment or materials; Cleaning tools, materials or disinfectant spray or disinfecting bleach, foot bath; PPE’s; and Multivitamin capsules, tablets, or syrups to aid Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela in introducing protection and health protocols to learners and teachers. Bond papers, notebooks, pad papers, ballpens, pencils, crayons, and other school supplies were also requested to aid for the preparation process of modules and to help other students and teachers who are less privileged to purchase such supplies.
The schools that the donations were given gave a lot of thanks to BCWD for donating needed school supplies for their preparation for the opening of classes.
