EL NIÑO WATCH: WATER SUPPLY STATUS UPDATE (as of April 21, 2024; 10:00AM)

DOST Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) ENSO ADVISORY No. 10 issued April 5, 2024 stated that the weather outlook for April 2024, eight ( 8 ) provinces in Mindanao are potential for meteorological drought conditions.

For Butuan City, hot weather and having little to no rain due to El Niño is still experienced up to now. As of April 22, 2024, the dam intake water level of BCWD’s Bulk Water supplier – the Taguibo Aquatech Solutions Corporation (TASC), continues to lower down from 3.2 meters yesterday (April 20, 2024) to only at 2.6 meters today (April 21, 2024) due to the little to no rain situation. With this situation, TASC has lowered down its water volume delivery as one of its mitigating measures of the effects of El Niño.

In the meantime, BCWD will conduct water rationing for April 21, 2024 to those barangays that will have no water supply with the following schedule:
RATIONING SCHEDULE
(April 21, 2024)
Tanker 1
Brgy. Masao
Brgy. Lumbocan
Tanker 2
Brgy. Bit-os
Princess Homes 4 and 5
Tanker 3
Horizon Subdivision Phase 1 and 2
Princess Homes 1, 2, and 3
BCWD continues to coordinate closely with TASC for updates on its water supply. Due to the critical situation of the Taguibo River, BCWD urges its concessionaires to conserve water. Furthermore, CONCESSIONAIRES ARE ADVISED TO CONTINUE TO STORE WATER DAILY TO MEET BASIC DOMESTIC NEEDS WHEN WATER IS AVAILABLE.
Expect a daily water supply update from BCWD at its official Facebook page while the effect of the El Niño phenomenon is still experienced.

We deeply regret the inconvenience. Thank you for your continuing support to BCWD.
